Dundee’s 2000/01 season was an entertaining one under player-manager Ivano Bonetti, with the club finishing sixth in the Scottish Premier League. The campaign included memorable victories away to both Rangers and Celtic, while a 3–0 win over Dundee United at Dens Park saw Juan Sara score a spectacular hat-trick. Gavin Rae was part of the midfield at the time and featured in that famous derby victory wearing the number 14 shirt.
Made by Xara, the home shirt has a classic Dundee appearance with a deep navy base and bold white detailing. A thick white stripe runs from the collar down the inside of each sleeve, giving the shirt a distinctive look without making it overly complicated. The Ceramic Tile Warehouse sponsor sits across the chest, while the Xara branding and Dundee crest complete the traditional early-2000s design.
This Dundee FC 2000/01 Home Shirt in XL is made even more special by the Gavin Rae 14 printing on the back. Rae was an important young midfielder during this period of Dundee's history, and having his name and number attached gives the shirt a genuine connection to the players who wore it on the pitch. For collectors of classic Scottish football shirts, it is a great snapshot of Dundee at the start of the new millennium.
